Does the AR functionality require an app?
No! You don’t need to download an app to view augmented reality. The AR view starts directly in the web browser with AR Quick Look (iOS) and Scene Viewer (android).
The AR experiences with PausAR Viewer start directly in the web browser of the user’s smartphone or tablet. This means that a website or webshop visitor remains on the page and can order the viewed product directly after trying it out virtually or find the relevant contact person. This also works directly by clicking on the call-to-action button at the bottom of the screen in the AR experience (shown in the videos).
To do this, the PausAR Viewer generates a QR code on a desktop device (PC) when the button is clicked, which can be scanned with a smartphone. The AR view can be started on the smartphone using the same button. PC users can also see the 3D model rendered directly in the web browser.
How does Web based Augmented Reality (Web AR) work?
Web AR (Web based Augmented Reality) is a technology that makes it possible to use augmented reality experiences directly via a web browser without the need for a special AR app. With Web-AR, users can experience AR content on their smartphones or computers by simply visiting your Website and clicking on a dedicated “Start AR” Button.

What requirements does PausAR Viewer's Web AR have for 3D models?
As PausAR Viewer is a web-based 3D & AR solution, the 3D models should be as compact as possible (small file size). Otherwise, the loading time of the experience will be longer, which can lead to users bouncing and a poor user experience. The free app “Blender”, for example, is a good platform for creating 3D models for AR.
